Do I get a t-shirt?

All registered participants will receive an event t-shirt. The shirts for survivors and those living with metastatic breast cancer will be in special colors to recognize their role in our event.

How will I get my t-shirt?

Those who register for the Columbus Race for the Cure by Sunday, April 21, 2024 will receive their t-shirts in the mail prior to Race day, without exception. Items will arrive between May 1 15, 2024. Shirts, race bibs and programs are being mailed in ONE package this year via USPS. As with any shipping provider, delays may occur.

For those who register April 22 through May 17 — T-shirts will not be mailed to you, they will be available for pick up along with participant bibs at the pre-event registration days. *Please note, staff are making educated estimates on quantity of needed shirts for both pre-event registration days and race day. It is possible you may not receive the shirt size requested during registration.

For those who register on Race day, May 18 — there will be t-shirts available on site that morning for those who register in person at the North Bank Park Pavilion. Registration opens at 6:30 a.m. You must pick up your t-shirt on site that day. No t-shirts will be mailed post-race.

Packet Pick Up Day — We will be hosting one Packet Pick Up Day this year. This Packet Pick Up Day will be held on Friday, May 17 at the North Bank Park Pavilion (311 W Long St, Columbus, OH 43215) from 9am-5pm. You will be able to register on site, drop off donations and pick up your race t-shirt/race bib.

2024 Limited Edition Shirt

We are excited and proud to bring you the limited edition shirt again for the 2024 Columbus Race! To earn your 2024 limited edition shirt, you must fundraise or self-donate $125 individually. The deadline is Race day, Saturday, May 18, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. EST. All limited edition shirts will be mailed post-race in June to those who qualify. You will receive an email when it ships including a tracking number. No in-person pick up will be available.

Please Note — The limited edition shirt is earned in addition to the participant shirt you receive with registration.

Promotion open to 2024 Columbus Race for the Cure registrants who raise at least $125 USD through their personal Komen fundraising site between October 15, 2023 - May 18,2024. Size selected at registration will be noted as preferred size, but limited sizes are available. Shirts will be mailed to participants post-race using their address provided at registration. While supplies last. Promotion may end at any time. Size selection determined by Komen. One shirt per participant who qualifies. Void where prohibited.

Kokosing Inc. Build Your Team Campaign
We are excited to share about this year’s Build Your Team Campaign, brought to you by Kokosing Inc. Anyone who registers as a Team Captain for the 2024 Columbus Race AND recruits 4 team members to register on their team by March 31, 2024 will be entered in to win one of three $50 Giant Eagle gift cards. The winners will be announced on April 1, 2024 in the Columbus Race Facebook Group and the winners will be notified by email.

Can’t join us Race morning? Hop on the treadmill, take to your neighborhood sidewalks or the paths of your favorite local park or trail wherever you’re able to gather with friends, family, and team members near you.

Race Bibs
Every registered participant will receive a 2024 commemorative race bib. All participants that plan to participate in the 5k or 1 mile course must wear a race bib AND be registered due to safety and liability. Spectators are welcome to join you on race morning but must stay on the race site.

Timing Chips
There will NOT be a timing chip option for the 2024 Columbus Race.

This event is a celebration of the strength and resilience of survivors and all people living with metastatic breast cancer. We honor these members of our community at:

  • Hope Village Tent | 7:00 a.m.
    Join us in the Hope Village tent for a special experience! We will be joined by Penzone Salons + Spas, providing an incredible pampering activities, as well as the Girl Scouts of Ohio’s Heartland, passing out friendship bracelets for you and a loved one. There will be a photobooth, a survivor/MBC paddle writing station and giveaways too! Stop in, have fun and join your fellow survivors and those living with MBC in sisterhood! Hope Village opens at 7:00 a.m. and will remain open until 11:00 a.m. We can’t wait to see you in there!
  • Survivor + MBC Group Photo | 7:50 a.m.
    Join us behind Hope Village at 7:50am for the group photo. Once the photo is done, please begin to line up for the parade of hope. Volunteers will be there to assist you!
  • Parade of Hope | 7:55 a.m.
    The parade of hope will line up directly after the group photo. Komen volunteers will be in blue t-shirts, assisting with getting the parade of hope lined up. The parade of hope will kick off the opening ceremony this year. The opening ceremony begins at 8:10 a.m.
  • Your Event T-shirt
    All registered breast cancer survivors and those living with metastatic breast cancer will receive a special event shirt to recognize your special place in our event. Those who have selected to be recognized as a survivor during registration will receive a pink race t-shirt. Those who have selected to be recognized as living with MBC during registration will receive a teal race t-shirt.

VIPs — Individuals who raise $1,000+ and Teams who raise $2,500 or more
On event morning, visit us at the VIP Tent (#2 on the site map behind start stage). We invite you to pop in and enjoy a complimentary light breakfast and coffee. There will be a photobooth and other goodies for you to take with you. Plus, you will be in great company! Your Columbus Race Team will email you once you’ve hit VIP status, providing VIP Tent details.

How long is the Race?

The Columbus Race has two course options to participate in. The 5k run/walk course is approximately 3.1 miles. The Family Fun Walk is 1 mile.

Are strollers allowed at the event?

Yes! We encourage participants of all ages to join us on event day!

Can I bring my dog(s) to the event?

For the safety of event participants/due to local regulations, only service animals will be allowed at the event.

For people with cancer or those with compromised immune systems, the CDC and NCCN (National Comprehensive Cancer Network) still recommends wearing a mask, social distancing, washing your hands, avoiding crowds, and other preventive measures.

On Saturday, May 18, 2024, we will race for the people who can't: For those too weakened by treatment to join. For those who are suffering. For those we have lost. Together we will fight back against breast cancer.
