A. The Race will be held at the Fremont Street Experience in downtown Las Vegas.
Q. Where is the Start Line and Finish Line?
A. The Race Start Line is located at Clark & Las Vegas Blvd. The Race Finish Line is at Fremont & 7th Street.
Q. How much is the registration fee?
A. The registration fees are as follows:
If you wish to be timed, an additional $5 will be added to your registration fee for a Timing Tag. If you wish to have your Race Packet mailed to you, it will be an additional $5. Please note that you must be registered to participate in this event. Participant bibs must be worn on Race Day to obtain entry to the race course and grounds.
Q. What is Sleep In for the Cure?
A. Sleep In for the Cure is a way for those who are out of town or unable to attend the Race to participate. Participants will receive a special t-shirt to wear while they Sleep In on Race Day.
Q. Is my registration fee tax-deductible?
A. No, your registration fee helps defray the costs of producing the Race and is not considered tax-deductible. However, any amount that you choose to donate above the entry fee is tax-deductible.
Q. What is the benefit of registering online?
A. Registering online has several benefits and is highly recommended, as it is fast, easy and secure. If you register online, you will be given your very own Race Participant Page where you can send out emails, track donations, make donations and view your fundraising success. Most importantly, if you register online before April 17th, you have the option to have your Race Packet (t-shirt, bib, etc) mailed directly to your for an additional $5.
Q. Is there a deadline for registering online?
A. NEW FOR 2016! Online registration will close at 6:00am on Friday, May 6th. Please note that if you register online on or before midnight on April 17th, you have the option to have your Race Packet (t-shirt, bib, etc.) mailed directly to your home for $5. On May 7th, online registration will re-open after the race for Sleep In for the Cure registrations only and will remain open through May 31st.
Q. What is included in the registration fee?
A. You will get a Race number, a Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure® t-shirt, and a great feeling! If you purchased a timing tag, you will receive that as well.
Q. How can I register?
A. You can register online or download and mail in a paper registration form. You have the choice to register as an Individual, start a Team, or join an existing Team. If you register online before April 17th, you may pay and additional $5 to have your Race Packet (t-shirt, bib, etc.) mailed directly to you. All paper registrants will need to pick-up their Race Packets at our Packet Pick-Up Expo, which will be located at 7311 W. Lake Mead Blvd, Ste 150 (located in the Lake Mead Pavilion on the southwest corner of Lake Mead and Tenaya next to Michael's), on the following dates and times:
Q. How will I receive my Race packet including t-shirt?
A. If you choose to have your packet mailed to you for an additional $5 by April 17th, your Race Packet (t-shirt, bib, etc.) will be mailed directly to you. No paper registrants will have their Race Packets mailed to them. All other registrants will need to pick-up their Race Packets on the designated Packet Pick-Up day's (see info below) at 7311 W. Lake Mead Blvd, Ste 150 (located in the Lake Mead Pavilion on the southwest corner of Lake Mead and Tenaya next to Michael's). Team Captain's with members who registered via paper will need to pick up the Race Packets for their team on the designated Packet Pick-Up day's.
Q. How do I get my race packet and my t-shirt mailed to me?
A. You must register online on or before April 17th and select the option during the registration process to have your packet mailed to you. A $5 packet mailing fee will be added to your registration total. No paper registrants will have the option to have their Race Packets mailed to them.
Q. When will my Race Packet arrive in the mailed?
A. The Race Packet mailing will begin on April 18th so regardless of when you registered, you can expect to receive sometime during the last week of April.
Q. What happens if I do not choose to have my packet mailed to me?
A. You will need to get your packet at our Packet Pick-Up Expo, located at 7311 W. Lake Mead Blvd, Ste 150 (located in the Lake Mead Pavilion on the southwest corner of Lake Mead and Tenaya next to Michael's), on the following dates and times:
Team Captains are responsible for picking up Race Packets for those who did not opt to have it mailed.
Q. Is there a deadline for registering using a paper entry form?
A. If you are mailing in a paper registration form, it must be postmarked, in the mail by April 26th. The last day to drop-off paper registration forms to the Komen Office is April 29th at 5:00pm. If you miss these deadlines, you may register at Packet Pick-Up using a paper scantron form (available at pick-up).
Q. Is there anything important I need to know before submitting my paper registration form?
A. Make sure that there is only one participant per entry form. A separate form must be submitted for each person. The Waiver and Release section must be signed. If you are under the age of 18, a parent/guardian signature is required. Unsigned forms cannot be processed and will be returned for signature, causing a delay in the registration process.
Q. Does my baby or child need to register?
A. Yes. Everyone participating in the Race must be registered, even those being carried or pushed in strollers.
Q. If I'm using paper registration, do I need a separate entry form for my baby or child?
A. Yes. Babies and Kids for the Cure must have their own entry form and cannot be combined with their parents registration form.
Q. How do I turn in my paper registration forms and fees?
A. Mail your forms and fee's no later than April 26th to Komen Southern Nevada Race for the Cure at P.O. Box 98809, Las Vegas, NV 89193. If you wish to drop off your registration form, you may do so during our Registration Drop-Off Weeks at the Komen Office (1091 S. Cimarron Rd, Suite A4, Las Vegas, NV 89145 - we are in the business plaza behind Calico Jacks on the corner of Charleston and Cimarron) during the following times: April 18-22, 2016 from 9am-5pm or April 25-29, 2016 from 9am-5pm.
Q. When and where do I pick up my t-shirt and race bib?
A. The Race Packet Pick-Up location 7311 W. Lake Mead Blvd, Ste 150 (located in the Lake Mead Pavilion on the southwest corner of Lake Mead and Tenaya next to Michael's). The dates and times will be as follows:
Q. What if I wish to be a timed runner?
A. If you wish to be timed, you can purchase a Timing Tag for $5. If you are registering online, you may choose to be timed during the registration process. If you are registering via paper, please mark the appropriate box and add $5 to your fee.
Q. I already registered but would now like to purchase a Timing Tag?
A. You may purchase a Timing Tag at Packet Pick-Up or on Race Day at Race Day Registration.
Q. Will I be able to register at Packet Pick-Up?
A. Yes, however paper registration forms will not be accepted. You must complete a scantron entry form available at Packet Pick-Up.
Q. Can I register at the Race on Race Day?
A. Yes, however the registration fee will be $40 for ALL participants. Our Race Day Registration area will be located in the Jackie Gaughan Parkway at Ogden & Las Vegas Blvd. Timing Tags will be available for $5.
Q. Do I need to collect donations in order to participate in the Race?
A. No, there is no fundraising requirement, however please know that the registration fee goes to cover the cost of holding the Race. It is your fundraising dollars that will help find the cures for breast cancer. Just Imagine the impact: If every Race participant raises just $100 in addition to their registration fee, we would bring in an additional $1.2 million to support local screening, treatment and educational programs in our community!
Q. Does my registration fee count as a portion of my fundraising efforts?
A. No. Your registration fee does not count towards your fundraising goal.
Q. Does the Race recognize breast cancer Survivors?
A. Yes! Survivors remind us all that participating in this event is a part of a bigger race to find the cures for breast cancer. To ensure that our Survivors feel like VIP’s, we have a variety of memorable recognition activities and special accommodations to ensure their Race Day experience is as special as they are.
Q. How can I become a volunteer?
A. The success of the Komen Southern Nevada Race depends heavily on the support we receive from our volunteers in the months leading up to the Race and on Race Day. There are many ways you can get involved, for more information, click here.
Q. Are pet and strollers allowed at the event?
A. Pets are prohibited on Fremont Street, but strollers are permitted.
Q. What if it rains?
A. Komen holds the right to cancel or change the date or location of the Race at its sole discretion, including in the circumstance of extreme weather. It is likely, however, that the event will happen rain or shine. Please dress accordingly.
Q. Does the Komen Race for the Cure® require fundraising?
A. You are not required to fundraise, but we do encourage all participants to fundraise above the entry fee. Just imagine the impact: If every Race participant raises just $100 in addition to their registration fee, we would bring in an additional $1.2 million to support local screening, treatment and educational programs in our community!
Q. Does the money raised stay right here in our community?
A. Yes! Up to seventy-five percent of the net income from the Race stays right here in our community to fund vital breast cancer health education and breast cancer screening and treatment programs. The remaining twenty-five percent supports Komen’s national research and grants program
Q. What is the Pink Honor Roll?
A. The Pink Honor Roll is a way for us to recognize our top 25 fundraisers. As a member of the Pink Honor Roll, you will receive a pink sash to proudly wear on Race Day, showing off your hard work.

Q. What is the deadline for sending in donations?

Q. What do I need to submit with my donations?
A. Please be sure to include a pledge form with any donations that you submit so that we can credit it toward your fundraising goal.

A. Your check should be made payable to Komen Southern Nevada Race for the Cure®.
Q. Where and when do I turn in my pledges/donations?
A. You can mail (no cash) your pledges/donations to Komen Southern Nevada Race for the Cure at P.O. Box 98809, Las Vegas, NV 89193. You may also drop off donations to the Komen Office (including cash) at 1091 S. Cimarron Road, Suite A4, Las Vegas, NV 89145. NOTE: Please make sure you include a Pledge/Donation Form with the money you turn in so that we may give you credit for the additional funds raised, especially if you are competing for a Top Fundraiser Award.
Q. Can I turn in my pledges/donations on Race Day?
A. Yes. Please place your pledge form and money in a sealed envelope and place it in a secured drop box located in the Registration area or Shop for the Cure® area.
Q. If I am competing for the top fundraiser, is there a deadline requirement to submit my donations?
A. All pledges/donations must be submitted by May 31, 2016. The top three fundraisers will be notified the first week of June 2016.
Q. When are matching gift checks due?
A. We will accept them at any time, however they must arrive at the Komen Office no later than May 31st in order to count toward your fundraising goal.
Q. I entered an off-line donation in my Participant Center but it is not showing up on my Personal Page?
A. The off-line donation will not show up until the Komen Office has received the money and approved it online.
Q. If I do not register online, what do I do with my pledges/donations?
A. Pledges/donations can be mailed to Komen Southern Nevada Race for the Cure at P.O. Box 98809, Las Vegas, NV 89193. You may also drop off cash or checks to the Komen Office at 1091 S. Cimarron Road, Suite A4, Las Vegas, NV 89145 (on the corner of Cimarron and Charleston in the business complex behind Calico Jacks). If you wish to turn pledges/donations in on Race Day, you may do so at one of our secured drop boxes. Remember to include a pledge form with all donations submitted.
Q. How do I get a receipt for my donation?
A. Online donors will automatically be issued a receipt via email. A check stub for donations of $50 and under will be suffice for tax-purposes, however if a receipt is needed, please specify and we would be more than happy to provide one.
Q. Where do I go for help if I have problems with my pledges/donations?

Q. What is a Race for the Cure Team?
A. A team is a group of 10 or more registered participants who come together to have fun, raise funds and fight a devastating disease. Team members can be male, female, kids, babies and adults. It doesn't matter if they sign up to Sleep In for the Cure, walk the 1-mile or run the 5K because everyone on a team does not need to participate in the same event. Teammates can be friends, family, co-workers, or anyone else who would like to participate.

Q. Where can I get a Team Captain’s Packet?
A. You can download the packet by clicking here (coming soon) or email your mailing address to firstname.lastname@example.org and we would be happy to mail you a packet.
Q. What is the deadline to qualify for the Largest Team award?
A. You must register your team members by April 22, 2016 in order to qualify for the Largest Team Award. This means that any team members or teams formed after April 22nd WILL NOT count toward the totals for the Largest Team Award.
Q. When can I drop off my team’s paper registration forms?
A. We ask that you drop-off your team entry forms and registration fees to the Komen Office (1091 S. Cimarron Road, Suite A4, Las Vegas, NV 89145) between 9am-5pm April 18-22 & April 25-29, 2016.
Q. Can I mail in my team paper registration forms?
A. Yes, however they must be in the mail by April 26, 2016.
Q. Can I have some team members register via paper and some online?
A. Yes, but those team members using paper registration forms will not be listed on the online Team Roster, nor will they receive their Race Packet (t-shirt, bib, etc) in the mail.
Q. When is the last day to join a team?
A. The last day to join a Team as a runner, walker or Sleep-In is May 6th at Packet Pick-Up. You may not join a team on Race Day.
Q. Before submitting my paper registration forms, is there anything special I need to know?
A. The Team Captains should complete the Team Captain section on the bottom of the paper registration form, make copies and then distribute to team members for them to fill out their information. A separate form must be submitted for each entry. The Waiver and Release section must be signed. If you are under the age of 18, a parent/guardian signature is required. Team members should turn in their forms and fees to the Team Captain to submit.
Q. One of my team members registered as an Individual but would now like to be on my Team?
A. If they registered online, send an email to email@example.com with their name and the team they would like to be added to. We will be happy to move them to your team.
Q. Can my team make their own team t-shirt?
A. Yes. Creating your own, one of a kind custom shirt is a great way to stand out on Race Day. We do ask that in designing your shirt, please do not use the Komen logo and do not make it pink as pink is reserved for Survivors.
Q. Do teams have to fundraise?
